Rates, eligibility and contract terms change: confirm them with the utility or the state utility commission before relying on them.
| Schedule | Schedule QF – Short Term, Cogeneration and Small Power Production - Qualifying Facilities (Electric Tariff No. 1-B, PUCN Sheet Nos. 32 and 32A) Note: The same PDF also carries Schedule QF – Long Term (Sheets 32B-33): a $0.04100 per kWh total rate for 30-year contracts, available only until 250 MW of QF contracts were approved or a new resource plan was approved, with CPI adjustments from May 1, 1991 (sheets issued 02-18-11). It is a closed 1990-era offer, not an open standard rate, and is not used here. NV Energy's QF page names Schedule QF as the pricing for southern Nevada resources. | Next update | Annual, in tariff format: NAC 704.8783 requires each utility to file its short-term avoided costs annually, and within 60 days after the Commission issues an order accepting its resource plan. The tariff says rates continue in effect until superseded. Note: Recent filings: Dockets 22-02011 (Feb 2022), 23-12013 (Dec 2023), 24-12006 (Dec 2024). No 2025 or 2026 filing appears in the PUCN docket list as of 2026-10-04. The joint 2027-2046 IRP (Docket 26-05007, filed 05/07/2026) is pending, so a refiling is expected within 60 days after an order accepting it. NAC 704.8783 asks for $/kWh peak and off-peak costs, but the approved tariff uses hourly indices instead. | Energy rate structure | Hourly market-indexed, all months. Firm energy (on- or off-peak) is paid, each hour, the lesser of the Powerdex Mead/Marketplace and Powerdex California-Oregon Border (COB) hourly index prices. Non-firm energy is paid the lesser of the highest hourly system incremental generation cost or those two hourly index prices. No fixed, seasonal or levelized prices are printed.Source: nvenergy.com: QF_South.pdf · checked 2026-10-04 | |||||||||

Copied as printed: a few labelled cells, not the full rate matrix. The whole schedule is linked below. Note: The tariff prints no unit for the hourly index prices; $/MWh follows its fallback clause ('a rate per MWH equal to the average of the applicable hourly prices'). | Contract terms | The schedule states no contract term. NV Energy's QF page says a Power Purchase Agreement is required for a QF to be paid, and that long-term avoided cost pricing depends on the company's most recently approved IRP filings. Purchases are subject to Tariff Rule No. 15, and the utility accepts all offered purchases, subject to 18 C.F.R. 292.304(f). | Price fixity | Not fixed: paid at hourly index prices.
