Cosmetics ingredient checker: INCI names and CAS numbers against state bans
Paste an ingredient list (INCI names, separated by commas) or CAS numbers. The check runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
How to read the results
Named on a state list: the entry (or a CAS number in it) matches a substance a state law names. You see each state, the date it starts and the citation; the ingredients page has the quote.
Class rule: confirm with your supplier: the name looks like a member of a class that a state restricts as a whole (PFAS, ortho-phthalates, formaldehyde releasers, lead or mercury compounds), or it is a mixture such as fragrance. The checker can't tell from a name; your supplier can.
Trade names we know (from the supplier's own document) are expanded to their INCI components.
No match is not a clearance. Lists change, names vary, and mixtures hide their components. Limits such as California's musk ketone percentages are shown but not calculated.
Data checked October 4, 2026: 96 substances, 197 state listings, 14 states.
